About This Section
Coaches at more than 250 schools in the Washington area were invited to
nominate top athletes from their sports. Selections were made by
Washington Post scholastic sports staff members Tim Eberly (girls’
soccer), Tarik El-Bashir (baseball), Judith Evans (softball and tennis),
Sean P. Flynn (softball), Dustin Gouker (boys’ soccer), Todd Jacobson
(baseball and track and field), Josh Leventhal (baseball), Nick
Pietruszkiewicz (softball and golf), Brian Straus (boys’ soccer), Joe
Whalen (girls’ lacrosse) and Dave Yanovitz (gymnastics and boys’
lacrosse).
