Sean Doolan | Fairfax | Sr.
Set Virginia record for all-around score (58.15) at AAA Northern Region championships, while also winning floor and high bar titles. Four time All-Met finished second at National Senior championships. Will attend Stanford.



Coach of the Year
Eric Kim | Lake Braddock
With just a four-man squad that included two freshmen, Kim guided the Bruins to an undefeated regular season mark, setting a team record with 204 points at the Centreville Invitational. Set a new record (205.60) at the Virginia AAA Northern Region meet.



First Team
Benjamin Carter, Herndon, Sr.: Four-year gymnast helped Herndon win second straight district title, finishing second in the all-around. Finished sixth at regionals. Competed in National Senior championships in Las Vegas.
Scott Flinn, Madison, Sr.: Repeat All-Met finished third all-around and second on parallel bars at Liberty District championships; placed third on high bar and floor and fifth all-around at regionals.
Ray Hacker, Fairfax, Sr.: Extremely talented on rings, the four-time All-Met finished tied for third in the all-around at regionals and second at the Liberty District meet. Will attend Nebraska.
Nadov Simenauer, Herndon, Sr.: Repeat All-Met won Concorde District all-around title and tied for third in all-around at regionals. Finished sixth all-around at National Senior championships.
Justin Spring, Lake Braddock, Sr.: Only Virginia gymnast to score a perfect 10.0 this season (parallel bars). Finished second all-around at regionals, won all-around at National Senior championships with record score. Will attend Illinois.

Christina Ghani | Lake Braddock | Jr.
Won the all-around at the Virginia championships with 39.15 points, the second-highest total in meet's 31-year history. Won all-around at Virginia AAA Patriot District championships and finished second at Northern Region championships.



Coach of the Year
Jack Leonard | Springbrook
Springbrook's coach since 1987, Leonard guided the Blue Devils to an undefeated regular season and their first Montgomery County and Maryland championships. Named 2001 coach of the year by the National High School Gymnatics Coaches Association.



First Team
Carolyn Marckesano, Langley, Soph.: Repeat All-Met led Saxons to a second-place finish at the Virginia championships. Won district and regional all-around titles and placed sixth at state championships.
Lindsey Montana, Potomac Falls, Sr.: Repeat All-Met finished seventh in the all-around at the Virginia championships and second at the AA Dulles District championships. Will attend Ithaca College.
Britany Raymond, Broad Run, Soph.: Won district all-around title and set new school records on balance beam, floor exercise, vault and all-around. Placed eighth in all-around at Virginia championships.
Amber Smith, Centreville, Sr.: Versatile gymnast excels on floor exercise and led Centreville to fourth-place finish at state championships. Won district all-around title, was fourth in region.
Rebecca-Jane Ruppert, Woodbridge, Sr.: Took third in the state on the vault. Won the all-around at the Cardinal District and Northwestern Region championships. Will attend Maryland.
