Gymnast of the Year

After winning all-around titles at the AAA Cedar Run District and Northwestern Region championships, Stevison became the first gymnast to score a perfect 10 at the Virginia individual championships when she executed a flawless vault.

With two freshmen in the starting lineup, the fourth-year coach guided the Indians to their sixth consecutive Virginia AAA Commonwealth District title, the Northwestern Region title, and a third place finish at state championships. Stafford's finish was the highest among Washington area teams.



First Team
Amanda Esposito, Centreville, Sr.: After sitting out her junior season to compete for a club team, Esposito returned to win AAA Concorde District and Northern Region all-around titles.
Kaitlyn Hoey, Robinson, Soph.: Finished second all-around at Patriot District meet as Robinson dethroned eight-time defending champ Lake Braddock. Placed eighth all-around at states.
Jennifer Little, Stafford, Sr.: Won Commonwealth District all-around title and finished second to Kelly Stevison of Osbourn Park at Northwestern Region championships as Stafford won team titles at both meets.
Jeenie Shank, Lake Braddock, Fr.: Finished second all-around at the individual state championships with a phenomenal 38.60 (9.65 average). Won Patriot District all-around title, was second at regionals.
Decelia Willacy, Springbrook, Jr.: Willacy led Springbrook to Montgomery County and Maryland championships and won second consecutive all-around title at each meet.
