Spring Kids The Post honors the area's top athletes in nine spring sports.

ABOUT THE SELECTIONS
Coaches at more than 250 high schools in the Washington area were invited to nominate top athletes from their sports. Selections were made by The Washington Post's scholastic staff: Sonny Amato, Josh Barr, Paul Bergeron, Rich Campbell, Liam Dillon, Sean P. Flynn, Jeff Ermann, Jon Gallo, Alan Goldenbach, Andrew Levine, Daniel Lyght, Charlie Moss, Stephen A. Norris, Angela Watts and Preston Williams.

ABOUT ALL-MET ELIGIBILITY
The Post does not consider players in their fifth year of high school who would not be eligible for public school athletics for All- Met honors. The decision was made in an effort to approximate eligibility guidelines set by the National Federation of State High School Associations, which prohibits students from playing high school sports for more than four years. The District, Maryland and Virginia's public schools all follow versions of this rule.

ABOUT THE STATS AND RECORDS
Performances through May 17 were considered for selection to the All- Met teams. Stats and records in this section only count games, matches and events held through that date.
