Athlete of the Year

Eleanor Roosevelt
The two-time All-Met was the linchpin for the Raiders as they won the 4x800 and 4x400 Championship of America races at the Penn Relays. She ran a 2:09 anchor leg in the 4x800 and took the Raiders from third to first in the third leg of the 4x400. She was named the meet's outstanding relay athlete. At the Arcadia Invitational, Stanley ran 2:09.17 in the 800, the top time in the area.

The second-year coach led the Raiders to a feat no other American girls' team had accomplished -- winning the 4x400 and 4x800 Championships of America at the same Penn Relays. Dunham, who ran for Howard, also led Roosevelt to the team title at the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays.

The four-time All-Met won the 200 (25.02) and the long jump (19-2 1/4) at the Allen Johnson Invitational. She was third in the long jump (19-1 1/4) at the Penn Relays. A two-time All-Met, Baird won her second straight Penn Relays discus title with a throw of 148-4. At the Southern Track Classic, she won the shot put (41-10 1/2) and discus (151-6) titles. Adetu gave a commanding performance at the ISL championships. She set meet records in the 400 (55.91) and the 200 (25.0), winning both races by more than a second. Boone defended her 2006 SMAC titles in the 100 (11.98) and the 200 (24.93) and added another in the 400 (56.95).

The repeat All-Met won the 1,600 at the Viking Invitational (4:56.7) and at the Montgomery County championships (5:01.91). At the Anne Arundel Relays, Gay ran a 2:11 split in the 4x800. The four-time All-Met broke four records at the Montgomery County meet: the 110 hurdles (14.05), 300 hurdles (44.57), high jump (5-9 1/2) and triple jump (38-0). Will compete for Villanova. The six-time All-Met ran the mile in 4:57.15 and the two mile in 10:56.06 at the Southern Track Classic. Won the 3,200 at the Allen Johnson Invitational (10:56.79). Will run for William & Mary. The repeat All-Met anchored the winning 4x400 team at the Penn Relays (53.4 split). Ran a 42.77 in the 300 hurdles at the Mt. SAC Relays. Will compete for Miami. Friederich won the 100 hurdles (14.60) and the 300 hurdles (44.41) at the Allen Johnson Invitational. She also won the long hurdles (44.55) at the Southern Track Classic.

Won the 800, 1,600 and the 3,200 (meet-record 11:05.57) at the Howard County meet and finished fifth in the Penn Relays mile (4:59.72). Will compete for Syracuse. The five-time All-Met won the Prince George's County 300 hurdles in 42.97. Ran on the winning 4x400 and 4x800 teams at Penn Relays. Will compete for Miami. The three-time All-Met finished third in the 800 (2:10.85) at the Mt. SAC Relays and ran on the winning 4x800 team at the Penn Relays. Will compete for N.C. State. The four-time All-Met set area-best marks in the long (19-7) and triple jump (39-8 3/4) at the Dogwood Track Classic. Had a 5-8 high jump. Will compete for Clemson.
