What Does It Take to Be an All-Met?
The Washington Post's scholastic sports staff asked, and All-Mets answered:
Brian Lybert and Joey Dennis

Player of the Year / Coach of the Year

PLAYER OF THE YEAR
D Seth Goldman | Robinson » Sr.
Concorde District Player of the Year was the backbone of a Robinson team that surrendered nine goals through the district tournament with him in the lineup. An imposing central defender with the ability to shut down the opposing team’s top striker, Goldman also scored six goals to lead Robinson to the Virginia AAA tournament. Will play for American.
» Favorite piece of equipment: His gold necklace
“It was my grandmother’s necklace, and she had a locket on it,” Goldman said. “I take it off right before the start of the game, but I put it right back on when it’s over. I guess it’s kind of a good luck thing.”

COACH OF THE YEAR
Sean Burke | Jefferson
After losing 12 seniors and nine starters from last season’s underdog state championship team, Burke guided a young, inexperienced Colonials squad to the Liberty District tournament championship and the Northern Region quarterfinals.
