Wrestler of the Year
Mike Rowe, DeMatha | 125 pounds | Jr.
Three-time All-Met won his third National Prep Championships title and completed season with a 60-2 mark. The three-time Maryland Independent Schools champion and St. Albans Invitational champion boasts a 163-6 record and has lost just once to an area opponent over the past two seasons.



Coach of the Year
Roy Hill, Hayfield
The 11th-year coach has turned the Hawks into the dominant Virginia AAA Northern Region team. Hayfield won its fifth region title in six years and placed fourth at the Virginia AAA championships—second best among area schools.



First Team
103 Lucas Black, Chopticon, Soph.
Maryland 4A/3A champion went 30-2, improving career mark to 64-4. The Maryland 4A/3A South champion and Southern Maryland Athletic Conference runner-up finished fifth in the state last season.

112 Vincent Cina, River Hill, Sr.
Two-time Howard County champion went 37-2 and placed second in Maryland 4A/3A meet. Completed high school with a 125-27 mark. Plans to wrestle for Pennsylvania next season.

119 Corey Bowers, Chesapeake, Sr.
Capped a 35-0 season by claiming first Maryland 4A/3A title after placing three years in a row. A four-time Anne Arundel County champion and two-time 4A/3A East Region champion, Bowers was 129-12 over his career.

125 Matt Myers, McDonough, Jr.
The three-time Southern Maryland Athletic Conference and Maryland 4A/3A South Region champion claimed his first state title. Completed season with a 32-2 mark and improved career record to 95-11.

130 William Powars, Potomac Falls, Sr.
First-time All-Met completed his high school career with first Virginia AA title after two runner-up and one third-place finish. Four-time regional champion was 43-1 as a senior and 150-6 career.

135 Jay Chichester, Colonial Forge, Sr.
Two-time Virginia AAA runner-up completed the season with a 41-10 record and 135-53 career mark. The Northwestern Region champion lost once to an area opponent and fell in double overtime of the state championship match.

135 Sonni Nucci, Bethesda-Chevy Chase, Sr.
Two-time All-Met claimed second state title, winning a Maryland 4A/3A crown to go with the 2A/1A title he earned last season. Montgomery County and 4A/3A West Region champion was 30-1 as a senior, 63-2 over past two seasons.

140 Ben Graham, Annapolis, Sr.
The two-time Maryland 4A/3A runner-up claimed his first state title and completed season with a 32-2 record. Two-time Anne Arundel and 4A/3A East Region champion completed high school career with a 119-15 record.

145 Rudy Rueda III, DeMatha, Sr.
Four-time All-Met became just the fifth wrestler to win four National Prep titles in the tournament's 67-year history. Maryland Independent Schools and St. Albans Invitational champion was 44-4 as a senior, 170-12 career.

152 Ignacio Diaz, Quince Orchard, Sr.
The two-time Montgomery County and Maryland 4A/3A West Region champion won his first state title this year. Finished season 34-0, going 62-4 mark over the past seasons.

160 Eli Black, Chopticon, Sr.
Two-time All-Met claimed second straight Maryland 4A/3A title. The four-time state place-winner did not yield a point throughout the postseason and finished the year with a 40-0 record, 144-7 career mark.

171 Steven Ratley, O'Connell, Sr.
After missing all of last season with a knee injury, the three-time WCAC champion placed third and compiled the most falls at National Preps. Was 46-2 and undefeated against local competition. Will wrestle for Air Force next season.

189 Gary Stewart, DeMatha, Sr.
Two-time All-Met claimed second straight Maryland Independent Schools title and finished third at National Preps. Completed season with a 54-4 record, 106-7 over the past two seasons while not losing to an area opponent.

215 Bryan Evans, Forest Park, Sr.
Claimed the fourth-year Woodbridge school's first Virginia AAA individual title by compiling a 44-0 record. The Cardinal District and Northwestern Region champion was 149-33 in his career with 92 pins.

Hvy. Justin Neal, Glen Burnie, Jr.
The Anne Arundel County and Maryland 4A/3A East Region champion claimed his first state title while compiling a 27-1 record. Won both the offseason Junior National Freestyle and Greco-Roman championships.
