Stars in Motion Different characteristics help make an athlete a start, but All-Mets -- including Kevin Durant of Montrose Christian -- share at least one basic trait. Whether it's due to their speed, their strength or even their grace, they move just a little better than their opponents.

Coaches from more than 250 schools in the Washington area were invited to nominate top athletes from their sports. Selections were made by The Washington Post's scholastic sports staff.
