Weiss Falls Out of Contention in Olympic Debut

Michael Weiss of Fairfax, skating fifth Thursday, over-rotated his
triple Axel, the second of three required jumps in the men's short program, and was sideways in the air before falling to his knees. Weiss picked himself up and finished his program (below). Only then, standing at center ice, did he realize that his Olympic medal hopes were gone. "I think I was more shocked than anything," Weiss said later.
