U.S. Aerialist Injures Knee in Fall

IIZUNA KOGEN, Japan Mariano Ferrario suffered a knee injury in a fall during the qualifying round of the freestyle aerials Monday.
"I blew out my knee,'' he told his mother, Marta, as he was led away for treatment.
Ferrario sat back on the landing of his second jump and rolled onto his right side, sliding to the bottom of the slope. Medical officials rushed to his aid and a stretcher was brought to the scene.
After a few minutes, Ferrario was carried off the slope by two team officials, his arms draped around their shoulders.
Ferrario, 24, lives in Park City, Utah, and is ranked 14th in the current World Cup standings. This was his first Olympic Games.
Ferrario finished 15th in the preliminary round and failed to qualify for Wednesday's final.
