again. In October, she finished first at the Karl
Schafer Memorial figure skating championship in
Vienna. Lu made history at the 1992 Albertville Winter
Games when she became the first female figure
skater to compete in the Olympic Games for
China. Her father, a former hockey player, taught her
how to skate at a very young age. She is called
"Lu Lu" by her friends.
