The Morgan Run N.E.A. is comprised of woodland and fields. The main attraction is the Morgan Run Stream, whose cold, clean waters provide ideal habitat for a year-round trout management program.

The park sprawls along the Patapsco River, and offers woods and streams for all kinds of recreation. Campsites are available.

In Baltimore, Howard, Carroll and Anne Arundel Counties. Patapsco has five separate recreation areas: The Glen Artney Area is reached via South Street from Route 1 in Relay; the Hilton Area is reached from Rolling Road, south of Frederick Road in Catonsville; the Hollofield Area is adjacent to Route 40 in near Ellicott City; the Pickall Area is reached by taking North Rolling Road to Fairbrooke Road to Johnnycake Road; and the entrance to the McKeldin Area is off Marriottsville Road.
