Maryland Demonstration Forests



The following Demonstration Forests are excellent sites to observe forest management practices, view wildlife, hike and hunt. Contact each one regarding the need for permits.

Elk Neck State Forest

Size: 3,465 acres Directions: Located in Cecil County. Take I-95 Exit 100, Md. Route 272 South. Just past town of North East, go east on Irishtown Road.

Doncaster Demonstration Forest

Size: 1,500 acres Directions: Located in Charles County. 12 miles west of LaPlata off Md. Route 6.

Seth Demonstration Forest

Size: 1,200 acres

Directions: Located in Wicomico County, 8 1/2 miles east of Salisbury. Take U.S. Route 50 east to Md. Route 263 (Sixty Foot Road).
