Point Lookout is historically important as the site of a Civil War prison, which housed Confederate soldiers. The park's attractions include several beaches, a boat launch area, a 710-foot fishing pier, camping and great fishing.

St. Clement’s Island State Park

On March 25, 1634, the first English settlers under the Baltimore proprietorship sailed to St. Clement's Island on the Ark and the Dove. The park contains a memorial cross dedicated to the memory of the first Marylanders.

A flood-control dam for a 5,600 acre watershed has created a 250-acres lake in this wooded park, which has great bass fishing.
