Mystics Draft Choices
Chamique Holdsclaw
F/G, 6-2, Tennessee '99
Holdsclaw, a two-time Associated Press women's basketball player of the
year, averaged 20.4 points and 8.8 rebounds per game during her
four-year career at Tennessee. She led the Lady Vols to three consecutive
NCAA championships.
Shalonda Enis
C, 6-1, Alabama '97
Enis, who played the past two seasons in the ABL with the Seattle Reign,
averaged 16.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. A former Kodak
all-American at Alabama, she was named the ABL rookie of the year and
selected to the ABL all-star team in 1998.
Andrea Nagy
G, 5-7, Florida International '95
Nagy (pronounced Nahj) finished third in the ABL in assists last season at
6.2 per game for the Philadelphia Rage. A native of Budapest, she led the
nation in assists as a junior (9.8 per game) and senior (10.3) at Florida
International. Prior to playing for the Rage, Nagy played for the Long
Beach Stingrays and Seattle Reign.
Jennifer Whittle
C, 6-5, Perth Breakers (Australia)
Whittle has played for the Women's National Basketball League of
Australia since 1989 and with the Australian National Team since 1994.
She was a back-up center for the 1996 Australian Olympic team. Whittle
was the WNBL's leading shot blocker and averaged 12 points per game
last season.
