Team Draft Summary Grade

Bears gave up plenty in their recent trade for QB Jay Cutler, perhaps a bit too much, and didn’t pick until the third round. Their top selection, DT Jarron Gilbert, could be an impact player. C+

You’re supposed to do well when you have the first pick, and they made the right moves with potential franchise QB Matthew Stafford, TE Brandon Pettigrew later in the first round and other solid picks in second-round S Louis Delmas and third-round WR Derrick Williams. B+

Green Bay

Packers significantly upgraded their defense with their two first-rounders, DT B.J. Raji and LB Clay Matthews, who’s also a superb special-teams player. A

WR Percy Harvin could be the steal of the draft at 22nd overall. Other clubs were wary of him, especially after a recent report by Fox he tested positive for marijuana at the NFL scouting combine. Second-round T Phil Loadholt could help. B-
