The Hotsheet: NFC South

NFC: East  |  North  |  South  |  West         AFC: East  |  North  |  South  |  West

Team Draft Summary Grade

Atlanta
Falcons

Defending NFC champs didn’t trade WR Anquan Boldin to add picks but did pretty well with what they had. Got RB help when Chris Wells fell to them at 31st overall and added a pass rusher in second-round DE/LB Cody Brown. B

Carolina
Panthers

Panthers didn’t have a first-rounder but got first-round value in the second round in pass rusher Everette Brown. Second-round S Sherrod Martin could be an immediate contributor. B

New Orleans
Saints

Saints needed a workhorse running back but didn’t get one. They did get Malcolm Jenkins, the first cornerback drafted, but some in the league wonder if he’s better suited to playing safety. C-

Tampa Bay
Buccaneers

Bucs continue to stockpile quarterbacks even with Jon Gruden gone, getting Josh Freeman in the first round. They focused on linemen thereafter but did little to change their team in the short term. C-
