STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS
Captain Yzerman Meets Lord Stanley
It was fitting that captain Steve Yzerman was first among the Detroit Red Wings to do a lap around the rink with the Stanley Cup on Saturday. Yzerman has played 14 seasons in Detroit, and he symbolizes the long wait Detroit has had since winning its last Cup.

STANLEY CUP PREVIEW
Stanley Cup's Spotlight Is on Lindros

Philadelphia's Eric Lindros (file photo) doesn't like to hear that "the torch" has been passed to him, but after eliminating Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky on his way to the Stanley Cup finals, it is difficult to deny that Lindros represents the NHL's future. The Red Wings, however, aren't ready watch Lindros win his first Cup.
Castro: Flyers Will Complete Mission

Associated Press writer Tom Castro says that although this might be the best Detroit team since it last won the Stanley Cup 42 years ago, the Philadelphia Flyers are the better team and are on a mission. Check out his Stanley Cup preview to find out why he has chosen the Flyers to win in six games.

Fetisov: A Different Type of Superstar

For Eric Lindros, this is probably the first of many Stanley Cup appearances. However, this might be the last chance for Detroit's Slava Fetisov to win a Cup. Fetisov, 39, broke free from the Soviet Union National Team and started the Russian invasion. He originally signed with New Jersey, but was with Detroit when the Devils won it all in 1995.

Red Wings Want 42-Year Drought Over
Last year, the Detroit Red Wings won an NHL-record 62 games. Yet they didn't even reach the Cup
finals, eliminated instead in six games by the Avalanche in the
conference finals. Now that they are in the finals, the Wings are trying to end a 42- year Stanley Cup drought the longest
in the NHL.

Detroit Dethrones Colorado

PHILADELPHIA FLYERS
Coffey Holds Fire in Spat With Bowman
Philadelphia's Paul Coffey, is biting his tongue when asked about his former coach, Detroit's Scotty Bowman. Bowman was Coffey's coach at the start of the season before a
bitter squabble ended with Coffey being traded, very much against
his will.
