U.S. Women Complete Dream, Win Gold
The U.S. women's basketball team began its quest for an Olympic gold medal about a year ago and finished it with a perfect 60-0 record, topping Brazil, 111-87, to win the gold medal. Lisa Leslie (pictured) led the United States with 29 points, and Teresa Edwards became the first woman to win three gold medals in basketball. The 111 points were the most ever in an Olympic gold medal game, topping the Soviet Union's 104-73 victory over Bulgaria in 1980.
