Italy, Russia Win Team Foil Titles
Defending champion Italy defeated Romania tonight to win the Olympic gold medal in women's team foil, and Russia followed later in the evening with a gold medal victory over Poland in the men's team foil. Dmitriy Shevchenko, Ilgar Mamedov and Vladislav Pavlovich each scored 15 touches each for the Russians, who defeated Poland, 45-40. The Italian women crushed Romania, 45-33.
