Highlights with USA National Team: excellent poise, despite relative lack of international experience was available for '94 World League, but did not see action, due to still-healing hand injury suffered prior to NCAA Final Four while playing in a pick-up game of basketball made '94 national team debut on Banana Boat outdoor tour versus Canada consistently among team's leading blockers and servers led team with four stuff blocks versus Argentina in World Championship pool play (9-30-94) seven service aces versus Cuba in World Championship seeding match (10-4-94) helped give USA tourney's top seed starting setter for USA national 'B' team (summer '93) during tour of Greece and Germany first trained with USA 'B' team in 1990 at the age of 18 (youngest player ever).

College/high school: finished with school records for career assists (6,526), block assists (416) and service aces (167) also ranks third in career digs (771) and ninth in career kills (770) finished second in NCAA history in career assists and among top five service aces directed Volleydons to NCAA Final Four appearances in 1991, 1992 and 1994, though '94 effort was hampered by a broken hand suffered in a pick-up game of basketball named NCAA Freshman of the Year in 1991 turned down several basketball scholarship offers (including one from Bobby Knight at Indiana University) to play college volleyball, coached at IPFW by father, Arnie Ball a 1990 graduate of Woodlan High School, Woodburn, Ind. named to Volleyball Monthly's Fab 50 team as well as All-Time Fab 50 list four-time all-conference performer and two-time conference tournament MVP (1989, 1990) in volleyball Woodlan's career leading scorer and rebounder silver medalist at U.S. Olympic Festival-'87 and bronze medalist at USOF-'89
