On Final Day, U.S. Gets Second Medal
Germany put the finishing touches Friday on its second Olympic Soling gold medal, sweeping Russia in three races -- none of them close -- in the
championship match. The U.S. team of Jeff Madrigali, Jim Barton and Kent Massey defeated Britain, 3-1, for the bronze. It was only the second yachting medal of these Games for the Americans.

Sailors Find Savannah Not Very Breezy
"Biting bugs, uncharted mudflats, sweltering heat and humidity and staggering logistical challenges all await the world's 500 or so top competitors. Happily, there's one other Savannah factor that should make it all worthwhile: Wind -- solid, 10- to 15-knot sea breezes that daily whip the offshore waters to a whitecapped chop and send Olympic Lasers, Europe dinghies, Mistrals, Tornadoes, Solings, Stars, 470s and Finns scudding along." See what else The Post's Angus Phillips has to say about the site of the Olympic yachting competition.
