We asked our readers to react to Washington's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Here is a sampling of the responses.

What a pathetic display. How many first round picks do we have next year? We need them all on defense. Mr. Nolan needs to update his resume. The Post keeps asking how many wins the 'Skins will have, I bet it's no more than seven. Every pro franchise in town is mired in failure...brutal.

Mr. Snyder, it's time to clean house. When your team loses to a team as weak as the Eagles, drastic changes are needed. Either Turner is a poor coach, a poor judge of talent, a poor motivator, or all three. Either one is enough cause for termination, but I think I saw all three against the Eagles. Brutally pathetic. Make a change now, please!!

Forget grading the team. A total "F -". The whole coaching staff is a disaster. The special teams are pathetic and the offense is only a little better. The defense is 11 people in search of a coach. Norv is a LOSER! Losing to the Eagles is a SIN! Redskins should all hang their heads in shame!

For someone reason, a lot of people penciled the Redskins in for the playoffs, Well lets face it, when you have been losing the same way for the past six years, what do you need to change, for the past six years, the Redskins have not been prepared or coached well enough, to win games they should, or play up to the caliber of a playoff team. They are less than an average team, they need a major over haul, coaches and players. To all you Redskin fanatics, I love the Redskins, but lets face it, they are not as good as you all thought. Turn out the lights the party is over.

A few days ago, Norv Turner convinced Daniel Snyder to keep Nolan. Then, on Sunday, the Redskins defense pulled off a miracle by giving up 35 points against the Eagles. It should follow that Snyder should fire Turner since Turner vouched for Nolan, and Nolan's defense got worse and lost the game again. We fans, who have tolerated mediocrity from the Wizards, Redskins, Capitals for long, deserve this one break.

This the second time the team's performance has so angered me that I feel compelled to write. Only really lousy teams lose to lousy teams. The Redskins are a group of men without heart, character, or pride. There is no other possible explanation for losing to one of the worst teams in the league when trying for the playoffs. Do these men even care? They are the WORST team in the league. That they've won a few games merely confuses that undeniable fact. Today, the Cleveland Browns, clearly a crummy expansion team, went into Pittsburgh and won, while holding the Steelers under 20 points. Could we do that? NO, we can't. Period. It is truly pathetic. It is also sad. Being a Redskin used to mean something. Remember the days of the team trying to win, succeeding, the stadium the loudest place on earth, and the city enthralled? Today, these bums don't deserve to wear the uniforms of those men of yesterday. These are not Redskins, they are not even competitive athletes, these guys are just overpaid imp osters. Today is the worst day in 30 years of rooting for the team. Enough is enough. Steve

The Redskins have sunken to a new low by losing to cellar dwellers of the NFC east. There's not much else to say. They may make the playoffs since the NFC East is so weak but they'll be unceremoniously dumped and exposed as counterfeit.

As a die-hard Skins for 29 years is is very dissappointing to watch our defense and special teams embarasss the team week after week. Maybe they should watch some Va. Tech footage and take notes from the coaching of Frank Beamer. Defense and special teams win games and our lack of both is why we lose games!!!

Norv needs to be gone -- he doesn't understand defense, offense or special teams. And someone has to end norv's inclination to go into his prevent "offense" which, again today, killed momentum for the 'skins. What further evidence does the owner need.

Six turnovers and penalties at the worst possible times. You can't expect to beat a High School team when you make mistakes like those. The Eagles are a horrible team, and the Skins should have blown them out. They better beat the Giants next week, or Danny Boy is going to clean house.

They certainly looked like they wanted to play just well enough to win and didn't take the Eagles seriously. The Redskins are not the caliber of team to rely upon any part of their team, even their offense, to win games. They can't blame the defense for this loss or Stephen Davis. This was totally due to the ineptitude of the special teams and the rest of the offense. No team in the NFL can win with 6+ turnovers. Hope Turner and staff have their resumes ready 'cause Snyder has some houseleaning to do to get this team to the winner he wants them to be.

It's time to shake things up defensively!...We have plenty of talent on defense, but the schemes are not working...See ya Mikey!!..Please Mr. Snyder, make a change now, before we are knocked out of the playoff hunt because of a week defense....

I wasn't surprised that it was a close game. You can always be assured when these two teams play the game will be close. However the special teams were horrendous. The special teams finally cost the redskins a game. Those two returns gave the eagles momentum. If there is a plus to this game its that the defense finally attacked, but considering it was Donovan McNabb's first start I don't even know that it matters. The Offense just couldn't get going in the second half. Next week is without a doubt the game of the year. With the cowboys impossible upcoming schedule, whoever wins next week between the Skins and the giants is going to win the division.

I am glad that most of the redskins' games are not broadcast in southern CA. This defense needs someone who can use the talent correctly. Richie petitbone had several different player changes during the course of his tenure with the redskins and manged to maximize the talent of each of his players. Let's face it, every one of us have a job to do, if we fail to do the job correctly our management will get rid of us. With all due respect to Mike Nolan, he is not doing the job. He must go. The redskins of old did not always have all the talented players in the league but always managed to get the best results. Find a defensive coordinator who will not give up the game to a rookie quarterback.

As bad as the defensive unit is the owner will only correct the problem by firing someone (coach, player etc.) to make folks know he is serious about winning football. They will never be successful with this current group of defensive players and coaches.

Enough. MORE than enough. Whatever the alternatives, it can't be right to stay with this coaching staff. That was an absurdly unprepared team. They should have been fired in October of 1998. DO IT NOW! Sonny & Sam could run the team for the rest of the year and do much better than this.

Critically speaking, this was one the most pathetic performances I have seen by a Redskin team in years. This loss was not due to a poor game plan; this was from poor execution, poor player judgement and generally inept all around play. This was not a coaches' loss. This was a player loss. This game defined the remainder of this clubs' year. The Redskins collective soul showed itself this afternoon. I suppose no more need be said.

This team has no heart. No fire. No "desire" to win. You can keep sticking up for Turner 'cause he's a "nice guy" but as long as this man is coaching this team todays result is what you will get. Fire Norv. Fire Nolan. Fire McDaniel. Promote Robiskie and the defensive & special teams assistants just to finish the season. Move on now. I bet you after two weeks w/ Robiskie this team shows more heart than it has since 1991... I realize you only have so many "shots" and the 'Skins do have a "winning" record currently, but it is clear to the most NOVICE fan, this team is not going ANYWHERE. Fire Norv. Making all of the mistakes was one thing. 6 turnovers is just unaccepatable. But the skins are good enough to come back and make up for the turnovers and mistakes. And they did NOT do that today. They made the mistakes and just settled for it.
