Coach Marty Schottenheimer
Q: What are your general thoughts on today’s game?
A: We played a pretty good game today. We took care of the things that are always important. Number one, we didn’t give up the ball, other than that one interception at the end. We took it away four times, and that created opportunities for us. The thing that we have been battling the first part of the season was time of possession. Today we had it almost 40 minutes. That’s how you win football games.

Q: Can you talk about your recent success?
A: The important thing from our standpoint is that our players understand what we are trying to do now far better than they did just a month ago. We like to run the ball. If you can run the ball in this league, you have a good chance of winning. You have to look at Baltimore a year ago with their ability to run the ball and what they were able to do.

Q: What about the home-field advantage?
A: When you get things going early like we did today and then this crowd gets into the middle of this thing, it is a tough place to play for a visiting team.

Q: Any thoughts about the next few games after the bye week?
A: Now we have to lick our wounds and try to get healthy. We have to get ready because we have several tough weeks ahead of us, as you well know.

Stephen Davis
Q: Can you talk about your performance today?
A: The last three weeks, we have had a lot of guys make plays, and everybody has been contributing. The offensive line did a great job today. All week people have been saying that Champ Bailey was the last guy to rush for a touchdown, and my main goal was to go out there and get a touchdown and put some points on the board.

Q: Any thoughts on becoming the team’s third all-time leading rusher?
A: This means a lot. There are a great group of guys on that list, and hopefully I can be number one in the next three or four years.

Q: How much momentum does this win give you?
A: We have some momentum, and some people are saying that the bye week is coming at a bad time, but I think it’s coming at a good time because we have some guys nicked up. Hopefully, we can come back from the bye week. We have a tough game on the road against Denver.

Darrell Green
Q: Can you discuss the team’s progress?
A: We got three out of eight wins, and we’re on our way somewhere we hope. Our bags are packed, and we’re going down the road. We hope we get to our destination, but we’re not there.

Q: What was the key to the win today?
A: People hate football clichés, but the big boy [Stephen Davis] ran the ball on offense, which means the O-line moved them back, and the defense stopped them. You hate to put it in a box, but that’s football. Football isn’t that complicated. It isn’t brain surgery.

LaVar Arrington
Q: Can you talk about your ankle injury?
A: If it was dirty, you know what happened to Bryan Cox, they’re blocking us, that’s horrible. You can make a play, you can basically get by somebody, and they can just come and hit you from behind. I’m just happy it’s not broken. I’m all right. I have never felt pain that I felt on that field. It was such a sharp pain. I just expected it to be broken.

Q: What are your thoughts on Stephen Davis’s game?
A: I’m proud, and I’m happy for Stephen. That’s the game he needed for his confidence. Like I said, it might have awakened the sleeping giant.

Q: Does this win validate your prediction the team would improve?
A: I’d like to believe that I know a little bit about the game. I saw things just materializing. I just kept feeling that it was just a matter of time before we started putting it all together, and that is what it seems is happening now.
