DORTMUND, Germany, Oct 16 – Borussia Dortmund kept their Champions League hopes alive with a first win on Tuesday, an impressive second half come-back earning a 2-1 victory over group B leaders Boavista.

Lars Ricken's equaliser in the 50th minute spurred a Dortmund purple patch that produced the tap-in winner from Czech striker Jan Koller 18 minutes later.

It was sweet revenge for Dortmund who had lost 2-1 in Porto three weeks ago.

A Boavista win would virtually have
guaranteed their progress to the next
round. Even after their first defeat, they
are still in second place on seven points,
one behind Liverpool. Dortmund are a
further two points back.

Boavista were the better side in the first half and led 1-0 at the break after Alexandre Goulart crafted a goal out of next to nothing.

Given too much space, he turned Stefan Reuter and, from 30 metres out, fired a looping shot into the top right corner of the Dortmund net.

Dortmund could have drawn level immediately as Boavista keeper Ricardo Pereira failed to hold a low Tomas Rosicky shot, but recovered in time to deny Koller a chance.

Dortmund had to wait for the second half for their chances.

Koller deftly flicked on Reuter's quickly taken free kick to Ricken, who committed the keeper and chipped in the equaliser in the 50th minute.

Seven minutes later, Pereira just got a hand to a Koller shot after the giant Czech had been played through by international team mate Rosicky.

Eighteen minutes later, Koller tucked in the winner and his second of the competition. The inventive and busy Rosicky was again the provider.
