This is the house on Prospect Street near the top of the stairs
that was used in the film "The Exorcist." Author William Peter Blatty
said a false front was built to make it appear adjacent to the stairs. A
privacy fence obstructs a view of the house today. However, no scenes
were filmed inside the house. This also is not the house from the book.
Although a Prospect Street address is used in the novel, the house Blatty describes does not exist. Blatty said they did have permission to shoot inside the house of Lloyd Bentsen, who was a U.S. senator and lived on
Prospect Street at the time. But they ended up not using the house.
