'Hotel de Love'

This is billed as a romantic comedy, but it’s much more boring than funny. Twins Rick (Aden Young) and Stephen (Simon Bossell) meet Melissa (Saffron Burrows) at a high school summer party. Though they both fall for her, it’s Rick who wins her over. When summer ends, she goes off to college.

Ten years later, Stephen is still hung up on her (though they were never more than friends), and Rick, fresh from a failed romance, is managing a honey moon hotel. Then one fateful weekend the brothers, their parents and Melissa all end up at the hotel at the same time.

The parents are there to try to renew the spark in their marriage (you get an equally boring subplot at no extra charge), and Melissa is there to get married. Soon the brothers are once again competing for her affection, but this time with the groom-to-be part of the equation.

If you’ve ever seen a (s)he’s-marrying-the-wrong-person movie, then you know it’s not a matter of if, but of when the wedding will stop and the proper couple will pair up. That’s pretty much how I felt about this movie -- not if it would end but when.

Contains sexual situations and brief nudity.
