In the movie business, there is such a thing as a standee. It's a cardboard display -- think of it as a three-dimensional poster -- that's placed in a theater lobby to advertise a current film. The standee for "Career Opportunities," the new teen comedy from the pen of John Hughes, features the genuinely ravishing Jennifer Connelly, who costars with the instantly forgettable Frank Whaley, sitting astride a mechanical rocking horse, her back slightly arched, dressed in a form-fitting white tank top and tight black jeans. Some standees move; this one rocks back and forth, gently, suggestively.

Jennifer Connelly is very easy to look at.

"Career Opportunities" isn't.

Go see the standee.
