'Extreme Measures'
Hugh Grant plays Guy Luthan, a frazzled but able-bodied doctor who’s trying to survive New York City’s busiest trauma room before heading on to a more lucrative practice. When a hysterical, homeless man is rushed in, his heartbeat and blood pressure wildly off the charts, Luthan is unable to diagnose the problem.
Luthan eventually loses the patient -- but not before the dying man (who’s wearing a mysterious, hospital wristband) mumbles shadowy clues about "Tri-Phase" and a friend called Teddy Dolson. When Luthan investigates further, he’s surprised to find resistance from his supervisor, Jeffrey Manko. There’s further cause for paranoia: A bogus call comes from the coroner’s office, lying to him about the cause of death; and the patient’s body disappears inexplicably. -- Desson Howe
