Here are some other packages from the D.C. area.

ODYSSEY CRUISES, 202/ 488-6000: The New Year's Eve 1997 Aboard Odyssey package includes hors d'oeuvres, a four-course dinner, open premium bar, unlimited champagne, live entertainment, and party favors. The cruise sets sail from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. $150 per person.

SPIRIT OF WASHINGTON CRUISES, 202/ 554-7447: The 1997 New Year's Cruise includes hors d'oeuvres, open bar, dinner and dancing. $99 per person.

RAMADA PLAZA HOTEL OLD TOWN, 901 N. Fairfax St., Alexandria, 703/ 683-6000 x. 1192: New Year's Eve in the Washington Lee Ballroom includes music from the Top 40 band Mutual Fun, hors d'oeuvres buffet, open bar, champagne toast, continental breakfast at 1 a.m. and overnight accommodations. $139 per individual, $199 per couple.

SPRINGFIELD HILTON, 6550 Loisdale Rd., Springfield, 703/ 971-8900: The New Year's Eve Celebration Ballroom includes live entertainment by Redstone, cocktail reception, dinner, open bar and a champagne toast for $189 a couple. The Night Club package includes a dinner buffet, live entertainment by Classified, and champagne toast for $59 a person.

HYATT REGENCY CRYSTAL CITY, 2799 Jefferson Davis Hwy., 703/ 418-1234: The Hyatt offers three packages. #1 includes dinner for two at the Chesapeake Grill, a room, champagne, breakfast for two, and parking, for $260 a couple. #2 includes dinner for two at the Cinnabar, breakfast, and champagne, for $177 a couple. #3 includes a room and champagne only for $117 a couple.

HOLIDAY INN DULLES, 1000 Sully Rd., Sterling, 703/ 471-7411: The Holiday Inn offers two packages. The Ballroom package includes dinner and music by Medicine Wind for $225 a couple, while the Scrooples lounge package includes DJ, snacks, and a champagne toast for only $20 a person.

MORRISON-CLARK HISTORIC INN & RESTAURANT, Massachusetts Ave. and 11th St., 1-800-898-1200: The Deluxe package includes dinner, a room, and Midnight Virginia Spiced Wine with Rum and Champagne for dessert for $140 + tax + gratuity per person. The Dinner Only package is $70 per person, and the Room Only package is $75 per person plus taxes.

CAPITAL HILTON, 16th and K streets NW, 202/ 737-1333: The Capital Hilton offers two packages. One includes a four-course meal, a room, party favors, a three-piece jazz band, a glass of wine and champagne for $75 a person. The second, for $240 a couple, includes a room, a four-course dinner, a glass of wine and champagne, and a free continental breakfast.

LANSDOWNE RESORT, 44050 Woodridge Pkwy., Leesburg, 703/ 729-8400: Lansdowne resort will hold parties in the Ballroom, Riverside Hearth, Potomac Grille and Stonewall's Tavern. The New Year's bash in the ballroom includes big band music by Bud Forrest & His String of Pearls, a 21-piece orchestra. A five-course dinner, champagne, room and breakfast are included in the ballroom package for $449 a couple and $309 a person. At Rascals Activity Center, the resort will hold a party for kids ages 3-12 for $50 per child.

CHANNEL INN HOTEL, Maine Ave. and 7th St. SW, 202/ 554-2400 or 554-2500: The Channel Inn holiday offering is dinner and a room for $57.50 per person. For $60 dollars a person, the package includes a three-course dinner, a room, and dancing to two live bands.

EMBASSY SUITES, 1250 22nd. St. NW, 202/ 857-3388: The Champagne Celebration Package includes a two-room suite, cocktail reception, hors d'oeuvres, live entertainment, champagne, and New Year's Day brunch for $89.50 a person. The second Dinner & Dancing package includes a four-course gourmet dinner, live entertainment from a jazz duo, champagne and party favors at Panevino's restaurant.

SHERATON SUITES ALEXANDRIA, 801 N. St. Asaph St., 703/ 836-4700: The "Alexandria Block Party" package includes open bar, a room, hors d'oeuvres, champagne and chocolates for $139 per couple.
