www.worth it Trail Mix May 21, 1999
Hikers, bikers, joggers, rollerbladers and stroller-pushing moms and dads use it. So do cross-country skiers in the winter. Now the Capital Crescent Trail-the thin ribbon of pavement that connects Georgetown to Bethesda, continues to Rock Creek Park as a gravel path, then meanders over to Silver Spring on streets-has a home on the Web, courtesy of Bethesda's Coalition for the Capital Crescent Trail. This recently launched site offers basic info: a map of the trail's completed and unfinished sections, a brief history of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad tracks that preceded the trail, parking locations, news updates and a calendar of events. There's also some common-sense safety tips that should come in handy on this increasingly crowded path.
