Bringing the latest in entertainment technology to the automobile was a big focus at CES.

At the 2003 Consumer Electronics show, car stereo makers showed off in-dash multimedia systems that combined audio and video with navigation systems. Clarion’s Joyride, for instance, plays DVD movies, MP3 music, CD audio and also will map your location.


Glen Braggs peeks inside a GMC sport utility vehicle tricked out with six different video screens and an Xbox gaming console built into the dashboard.


With its half-dozen video screens and a massive speaker system, the GMC SUV was clearly a special edition tricked out for the show.


Kenwood's new car stereo was among the many digital car sound systems that display the names of stations and songs as they’re playing.


Mobile TV screens for automobiles were everywhere at the show.
