The center would treat passengers and airport employees for non-serious illnesses . . . An American-made sound machine with recordings of bird screams was installed at    Beijing Airport  to frighten off feathered friends. Detroit Metropolitan  was second and    Denver  third . . .    Newark Liberty International  has been approved for nearly $280 million in airport improvements to Terminal B, including new ticketing areas, the expansion of security checkpoints and a new domestic baggage claim area . . . The Strategic Rail Authority in London has plans to discontinue the Gatwick Express, the dedicated express train connecting    Gatwick Airport  to London -- thus forcing airport passengers to rely instead on local commuter trains. Brussels Airport  just installed three kiosks that use similar McCarran-like CUSS (Common Use Self Service) technology . . . Through Dec. 21, Rijksmuseum    Amsterdam     Schiphol,  an outpost of the Netherlands' largest museum, will feature eight works by Jan Steen. Look for the free exhibit, open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., past passport control between the E and F piers . . . At    Louisville International,  finding your gate became a bit easier with the christening of the two previously unnamed concourses, now called A (with gates A1 through A14) and B (gates B2 through B19).
