What's There?

Wide boardwalk lined with amusement piers, rock climbing games, hot dog stands, T-shirt stores ... Ocean City Music Pier ... Gillian's Water Wonderland ... the new Ocean City Aquarium.

Lodging

Few motels are oceanfront and these cost $150-plus a night. Ocean block lodgings are slightly cheaper, about $100 to $140. Bed-and-breakfast inns are a good deal at about $100 a night. The Ocean City Chamber of Commerce maintains a referral service (1-800-232-2465) on vacancies that's updated daily in season.

Quirk

Ocean City's been a "dry" town since it was founded in 1879. Buy your booze at the liquor stores just before you cross the 9th and 34th street bridges.
