"Don't leave home without a handful of plastic zip-top bags," began the
e-mail from Julia Wisniewski of Wheaton, and we figured it was just one more of the many Ziploc tips we receive each week (hint: great idea, not
original). But Wisniewski went on to provide an interesting twist on the
Ziploc theme.
"If a restaurant is crowded, you can easily save your own leftovers," she
advised. (No, that's not the twist. Be patient.) "I sustained myself very
nicely this way during a recent conference, with infrequent breaks between
sessions not always coinciding with meal times. You can even and here comes the innovative part fill the hotel sink with hot water and reheat your bagged cuisine!"
We wish we'd thought of this when we were nibbling our pitifully cold
leftovers during our last trip. Wisniewski gets a Travel section T-shirt for pushing the Ziploc envelope just a little bit farther. Want to win a shirt of your own? Bag the fine print below.
