PROBLEM: You need a friendly face to help you deal with your fear of flying.
SOLUTION: Use your own. "Several years ago, I took a course to overcome my fear of flying," says Robin DeMattia of Warrenton, who has tested her own tip about a dozen times since 1989. "During a special 'graduation' flight with just class members and family and friends, I had someone take a picture of me smiling and looking relaxed. I've carried that picture on subsequent flights, so I remember that I can be calm on an airplane."
