PROBLEM: You want up-to-the-moment weather info about your travel destination, but you're short on time and you don't have the Internet at home.
SOLUTION: Turn to cable TV. "Set your VCR the night before departure to record the Weather Channel for the hour before you wake up," says reader Pauline Sterin, an obvious fan of Jim Cantore and Co. "Then you can fast-forward through the tape to get to the part you're interested in." Now, if we could only figure out those instructions to our VCR . . .
