PROBLEM: The battery on your watch fails, leaving you, quite literally, out of time.
SOLUTION: You could always carry a spare battery with you at all times. Or you could do what Eve Carr of Great Falls does, and strap on two watches when you travel. Carr says she learned this the hard way, when her watch battery failed during a recent trip to Europe. "I survived by carrying my travel alarm with me." Now she sets one watch to local time and one to D.C. time-the better to avoid calling her family at 3 a.m.
