Tipster Ann Hyslop of Washington sends this hint, of which she was the beneficiary rather than the benefactor.
"On a recent overbooked holiday flight, I was amused yet appreciative of a concerned passenger's proactive gesture," she writes. "After he, his wife, and infant son were situated in the row ahead of me, he offered earplugs to all surrounding passengers. When I declined, he replied, 'If you change your mind tap me on the shoulder."
"Fortunately, I never needed the plugs, as his child slept peacefully the entire flight."
In these days of Row Rage, when passengers spit and swear over a squished coat in the overhead bin, we hope this serves as a great reminder about the value of being considerate and a gentle hint to those traveling with small kids to mind your neighbors.
