"Almost every tourist takes photos or videos during their travels, but try
using paper and pencil or pen to simply draw what you see," advises tipster
Persis Suddeth of Bowie.
"You will find that your own experience is intensified, that the locals are charmed, and that you may even become a 'tourist attraction' yourself, as the activity is so unusual."
You say you're no artist? "The effort itself is more important than the
artistic merit of the results," Suddeth maintains. "I find my sketches are
better memory enhancers than even the best of my photographs."
