  Travel Tips
Traveler + camera = (eventually) photo album, and that's where this week's tipster, Nancy Winter of Falls Church, comes in. "When touring another country," she writes, "purchase about a yard or yard and a half of fabric that is typical of the country – for example, an African print, or a patterned silk from China. It doesn't have to be fancy, just something that is common in the area. Then, when you return home, purchase an inexpensive album and cover it with the fabric [with a hot-glue gun]. You will create a unique photo album and will be able to tell at a glance which album you are pulling out from your bookcase."

We love Winter's tip, not only for its originality, but also for the way it encourages travelers to think outside the souvenir box. Winter wins a Travel section T-shirt for sharing her idea. Got a tip of your own? Pay cloth attention to the fine print below.
