Tip 88: The Door Jam
Sunday, March 21; Page E03
  Travel Tips
"A lot of hotels now have cards to open the door instead of keys," notes tipster Molly Hullinger of Laurel. "Even hotels that have keys don't have the room number on them anymore for safety. The problem is, I can remember the floor and basic location of the room, but never the room number. To solve the problem, I put a small piece of tape or even a little sticker dot on the outside of the door. It can be placed in a corner where no one will notice it. Then I always know which room is mine."

Glad to know we're not the only ones who've been wandering the halls, key card in hand, trying desperately to figure out which of those identical-looking hotel-room doors is ours. For sharing her elegantly simple solution to this problem, Hullinger wins a Travel section T-shirt. Got a tip of your own to share? Remember the location of the fine print below.
