"Since we will be driving on our first tour of Ireland this spring, I bought a map to plan routes," says tipster Kathleen Collins of Silver Spring. "I copied the parts that I needed so that I didn't have to keep unfolding the whole thing, and accidentally copied at 150 percent to 11x17. What a glorious mistake! I could see in much greater detail. I highly recommend that anyone planning to navigate a foreign land copy the sections relevant to each day's drive. If you fold the map to an 8x11 segment and copy at 150 percent to 11x17, it makes it a lot easier to navigate."
Besides aiding the map-impaired, Collins's tip should also come in handy for the 40-and-over set you know, the ones who find themselves holding various printed documents out at arm's length, just like they used to laugh at their parents for doing. Collins wins an "I'm a Great Tipper!" T-shirt for sharing her tip. Want a shirt of your own? Enlarge the fine print below.
