Accounting Clerk
You record the company's financial transactions in ledgers and are responsible for the accuracy, completeness and consistency of the financial records.
Administrative Assistant
You plan, direct and coordinate support services for your organization. You may keep records, distribute mail and answer the telephone among other support services. You may also oversee facilities planning and maintenance.
Aeronautical/Astronautical
Engineer
You perform a variety of engineering
work in designing, constructing, and
testing aircraft, missiles or spacecraft.
You may evaluate the materials and
equipment used in craft design and
manufacture and recommend
improvements in testing equipment.
Biological/Life Scientist
You design and perform experiments
and analyze data relating to the study
of living organisms. You also prepare

publication. Your actual job title might
be taken from the organism you study.
CIO/Manager of Information
Systems
You are responsible for software
development, maintenance and
enhancement, product QA and testing,
while managing the strategic planning
and implementation of new
technologies. You budget and oversee
development of all new tech projects.
Client/Server/GUI Systems Developer
You analyze and design client/server programming applications. You have a working knowledge of various OSes, including ODBC, Windows NT, Macintosh, NOVELL, OS/2, Windows 95, UNIX, APIs and RPCs.
Computer Course Instructor Systems
You're a hot commodity right now as you train future systems workers in such subjects as UNIX and object-oriented analysis. You may be preparing them for one of the OS certificates.
Corporate Attorney
You provide legal counsel for your
company by drafting and negotiating
licenses and contracts. You may
specialize in a certain field of law
within your company - such as

Data Communications Analyst

Designer/Multimedia Specialist
First you suggest a format and platform (i.e., print, online, video) for presenting information. Next, you create the "look and feel" and design the layout and sequence of pages or screens. You then proof, test, edit and refine the work.

Engineering Technician
You test product quality, monitor
procedures and may also help sales
reps by advising buyers on equipment
concerns. You provide technical
support for all phases of manufacturing
including fermentation processes and
purification activities.
General, Audit or Cost Accountant
You prepare schedules, exhibits and summaries on financial conditions. You may review accounting procedures and documents for accuracy. At the more advanced levels, you interpret financial trends and predict the effects of change in operating procedures.
HR Staffer/Recruiter
You plan, direct and coordinate the
human resource activities of an
organization and maintain employee
compensation programs, recruitment,
personnel policies and training
initiatives.
Lab Technician
You assist the engineers and scientists
in research and development by
setting up experiments and calculating
and recording results.
LAN Administrator
You install and maintain local area network hardware and software. You troubleshoot network usage, install new users, perform systems backups and data recovery, resolve LAN communications problems, and monitor security.

Mechanical Engineer
You concentrate on the design,

machines and other mechanical

Midrange Systems Developer
You develop and support enterprise-oriented applications or general business applications.
Network Analyst/Specialist
You make sure that your company information channels flow freely and are hacker-proof. You connect users to the system and assess the ability of the current system to meet future network needs. You also reroute communications to avert network failures.
Office Manager
You keep the office running smoothly
using your organizational
talents. Having general
administrative skills, you may keep
books, telephone logs and personnel
records and coordinate purchasing for
your office.
Principal
You are one of the business partners
running the place. You take an equal
share of the leadership, responsibility,
and praise.
Programmer/Analyst
Fundamentally, you design and update the software that runs the computer. You sit in design meetings to help determine the best approach to a problem; then you code it, test it, debug it, and make sure it's compatible with previous software versions.
Project Engineer
You oversee all engineering phases of
a project and have at least superficial
knowledge of multiple engineering
disciplines. You streamline the
engineering processes and keep all the
engineers focussed on the same
project goals.
Public Relations/Media Staffer
You develop and implement creative
publicity strategies for new products
and existing customer solutions. In
addition, you may write press
releases, maintain media contact
databases and coordinate media
relations.
Purchasing Agent/Buyer
You select and recommend suppliers, maintain the contracts, and manage the material acquisition process. You may also determine the feasibility of purchasing products, while keeping up to date on pricing trends and manufacturing processes.
Quality Assurance Analyst
You test company products to ensure compliance with quality requirements. You ensure that development processes and procedures are in place and are followed.
Sales Account Representative
You identify and contact sales
prospects, analyze customers' needs,
propose business solutions and
negotiate sales.
Software Engineer
You look at the problem or market need and design software to address it maybe performing cost/benefit ratios. Then you write the code to make it happen and test every feature in a beta release. You refine it and then send it out the door.
Systems Administrator
You assess the benefits of an upgrade, and then you schedule and install OS, database management software, compilers and utility programs. You also might install new users, create batch administration scripts and run system backups.
Systems Engineer
You are responsible for the design, development and implementation of computer software using C/C++ and other low-level OS software. You develop GUI-based applications, systems software and embedded software.
Systems Operator/Analyst
You maintain the hardware, update manuals, monitor system performance, handle security issues, document problems and determine solutions. You may also start up and shut down the system and set up and maintain accounts for your coworkers.
Technical Support
Computer novices are your demographic. You work with users/customers to identify problems and then walk them through the solutions. Since you are in close contact with the customers, you are often consulted on internal projects to improve products.
Technical Writer/Editor
You write updates and revise existing technical materials, such as equipment manuals, appendices, and operating and maintenance instructions. You may also oversee preparation of illustrations, photographs, diagrams and charts, as well as assist in layout work.
Vice President
You're the (or one of the) president's
main advisor(s)! You assist in carrying
out executive orders and may oversee
specific aspects of the business.
WAN Administrator
You evaluate, select, install, maintain and analyze wide area networks. You get your hands on the hardware routers, hubs and multiplexers and know all about WAN routing protocols.
Web Programmer
You are responsible for isolating, diagnosing and patching scripts and server functions. You understand source code control and methods of documenting code changes.
