About WeatherPost Introduction | Updating Schedule | Acknowledgments
Introduction For Washington residents, you'll find current conditions and forecasts for more than 60 cities in the metropolitan area. Odds are, if you live around here, we've got you covered. For residents of the United States, we offer forecasts for more than 2,300 cities nationwide, complete with forecast maps, regional radar images, satellite images and links. For residents of other parts of the world, our information is in metric units. You'll find forecasts for more than 1,300 cities worldwide. We cover almost every country on the globe, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe with more than 220 nations and territories in between. Forecast information for each city is completely replaced and updated every 12 hours. And our satellite images are updated as frequently as every hour. You can navigate WeatherPost using our organized lists of city information, or you can simply type in the city, state or country you're looking for and jump directly to the information using our Forecast Finder. Please be specific. For example, simply typing in Japan would yield more than 60 cities. Typing in California alone would yield 379 cities (and take about 5 minutes to download over a modem). If you're traveling, you can not only look up forecast information but also check for historical weather data on city forecast pages. Our historical weather archive offers climatological averages for almost 1,000 cities worldwide. The historical pages contain average temperature, precipitation and other weather indicators for any month. We have also organized a Weather Reference Desk, where you'll find weather calculators for doing basic unit conversions, detailed explanations of weather terms, a 600-term searchable weather glossary, and expert meteorologists in their own discussion area to answer your questions. As always, if you have any questions, want to say hello or want to make a suggestion, drop us a line. We're always looking to improve upon our site.
