Srinagar:
The summer capital of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The city is known for the wide variety of houseboats found on its three major lakes. Two suicide assailants set off a car bomb in the legislature building in Srinagar on Oct. 1, 2001. The death toll eventually reached 40 people.
