Subic Bay Naval Base
Ending 94 years of American military presence in the Philippines, in November 1992 the U.S. closed Subic Bay Naval Base, America's last military base in Southeast Asia. The pullout came as a result of the Philippine Senate's rejection of a treaty that would have extended troop presence for another decade in return for $2 billion in aid.

Clark Air Base
Clark Air Base, once the U.S.'s largest overseas base, was formally turned over to the Philippines in November 1991 after suffering severe damage from the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in June of that year.
