Most years the D.C. vote for a mayoral nominee is tantamount to choosing the next mayor in an overwhelmingly Democratic city where competitive general elections are rare. In the week leading up to the primary, the race narrowed into a two-person contest between incumbent Vincent C. Gray and Council member Muriel Bowser (D-Ward 4). See results by ward.
