Syrian government troops moved back into towns for the first time in years after U.S.-allied Kurdish fighters, in a stunning reversal, reached a deal with the government. Turkish-backed rebels have begun a push to retake the northern city of Manbij, which has long been a flash point.
The president’s reelection campaign manager, Brad Parscale, also called for the resignation of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). Meanwhile, House investigators heard from Fiona Hill, the White House’s former top Russia adviser.
Police identified the officer as Aaron Dean and said he would have been fired had he not resigned on his own. Dean shot and killed Atatiana Jefferson in her home early Saturday by firing through a bedroom window.
