The former president and his lawyers argued that the records are protected by executive privilege. The committee is investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol as well as Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.
The court told Texas to respond to the filing by Thursday, an indication that it could act within days. And it also called for a response on that day to a request by abortion providers to speed consideration of their challenge of the law.
