O'Malley administration opposes medical marijuana bill

Maryland would join 15 states and the District of Columbia in allowing marijuana use for medical purposes The health department's analysis also found that it would cost several million dollars and at least several years to set up a state program, and suggested launching a study to come up with an alternative.

O'Malley takes his message to Washington for third time in three days

Speaking to House Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill Wednesday, O'Malley pressed the importance of investing in public schools, job creation and infrastructure. O'Malley's appearance on Capitol Hill capped off three days of visits to Washington.

O'Malley postpones pre-inaugural event at U.-Md. because of icy roads

As part of the lead up to O'Malley's swearing in on Wednesday, the governor and Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown had planned to join hundreds of students on campus to discuss the cost of college, job creation and the state's budget woes. O'Malley is scheduled to take the oath of office at noon Wednesday in the Senate chambers in Annapolis and then to make remarks on the steps of the State House at 12:30 p.m.
